Some reoccurring themes withing the slasher film poster, seems to be the addition of the weapon, the repetition of the colour blood (red) and the use of blood within the title. We decided to go against some of these conventions to create a sense of ambiguity as people won't know what to expect. We did not include a weapon for the killer, to create a sense of mystery, so the audience will have to watch our film to get an idea of the technique in the killings. These are film posters from the golden age of the slasher genre, and as you can see, all of them are animations. We once again, decided to break some of the forms and conventions of the slasher film poster, as we believed an edited photo would look more terrifying.
Hey There, we are year 12 media students from Capital City Academy, who form a group called the 'Tarantino Tigers'. on the left is an image of our media group (from the left Marwa,Enes,Gehan and Viran)
We will be keeping a blog to show our progress with the course and use it as an update to display how we are getting on. We will also present the pre production, production and post production of our project which is to create a two minute opening sequence of a film.
We chose as a group that we will use a sub genre of horror, called slasher. We were very interested in this genre as it holds many key conventions and we thought it would be motivating to experiment with the genre's key concepts.
