A Visit From Editor Mr.Laurie McDowell

During one of our media lessons, we had a chance to meet Mr.McDowell, a professional editor and he came in to talk to us about edits and cuts, as well as giving us useful tips on our coursework, which is a 2 minute opening sequence to a film of a genre of our choice. He is known for his clever editing techniques in movies such as "Standing Ovation" and Reality TV programmes, one of which includes 'African Apprentice'. He spoke about the different uses of techniques involved in film editing such as cuts and the timing and sequence of them. We found his advice very useful for our project and we hope to incorporate is hints and tops to our future work.
